Keira Parker 

A 25 year old hobbyist Game Designer from Vancouver. Currently writes for the gaming magazine CTRL-SHIFT-PLAY. While playing a vintage otome game entitled Tea Time with the Dragon Princess, she finds herself sucked into the game. 

Compared to the unhappy home life she left behind, the things she experiences and the people she meets inside the world of the game might prove to be an unexpected improvement. 

Elyra von Nacht 

The only child and heir of Almaryan emperor Cylus Von Nacht. Already an accomplished imperial soldier and orator, Elyra is attending the Knight's Academy managed by the neutral Church of Eos to reach even greater heights. 

Her tough exterior masks a more gentle interior that has more in common with her rival Alexis Agustis Verdan than one would initially assume.

 Alexis Agustis Verdan

Crown Princess of the Kingdom of Verdan, and elder daughter of the reigning King Lucius. As the Bearer of the Crystal of Light, Alexis is also destined to fight against the Great Dragon that threatens her home.

While she strongly believes in the work noble people like her father do, Alexis is all too aware of the weight of the crown she does not yet wear.

Warren Gabriel Ashford

Crown Prince of Cornelia, and the betrothed of Princess Alexis of Verdan. Warren is also a Crystal Bearer, with his status as such being his father's primary motivation for seeking to strengthen relations between Cornelia and Verdan.

 Known by his friends to be rather lackadaisical, even some of them aren't entirely certain if his behavior is him relishing in the privilege that comes with his station or as some sort of rebellion against it

Artorius von Schatten

The shadow behind the throne, wields true power in Almarya as the Emperor's most trusted advisor and head of the Imperial Council. Renowned for his masterful strategy and ruthless political maneuvering, Artorius rose swiftly through the ranks, becoming a formidable figure feared and respected by all.

A powerful sorcerer, he commands the dark energies of the Draconian Current, a skill that bolsters his influence. Artorius has no children but has meticulously groomed his protégé, Dorian Astra Penumbra, since his teenage years, imparting lessons in court politics, warfare, and the harsh consequences of betrayal. Despite his teachings, Dorian's true motives remain shrouded in mystery, even to Artorius.

Dorian Astra Penumbra 

Dorian Astra Penumbra, at first glance, has the ideal life. Already of incredibly high social status, he's betrothed to Princess Elyra of his native Almarya, the protégé to Artorius von Schatten, the one who really holds power in the empire, and one of the Crystal Bearers destined to help save the world. 

While not being emperor, Artorius's shrewd political maneuvering has earned him the support of the majority of the empire's nobility, skills he's passed down to Dorian, the ward he's groomed since his teenage years. He might've done too good a job teaching Dorian, whose true motivations might be hidden even from Artorius.
